Patrick Ciardullo
Captain of Professional Standards and Training

Patrick’s career in public safety spans 17 years. He completed his undergraduate at CCSU in sociology with a minor in criminology. He is a nationally registered and state licensed paramedic and EMS-Instructor.  He has been with New Britain EMS for almost 15 years working as an EMT, Field Training Officer, paramedic, Shift Lieutenant and Lieutenant of Professional Standards

Patrick now serves as the Captain of Professional Standards and Training for New Britain EMS. In this role he manages internal training & education, quality improvement, and community outreach for the New Britain EMS operations division as well as functioning as the director of the New Britain EMS Academy.

Craig Nolan
Primary Instructor

Craig has been in the emergency services for over twenty five years serving in different capacities.  He holds a bachelors and masters’ degree from Central Connecticut State University, has been a certified EMS Instructor for over ten years and is an adjunct professor with the CCSU School of Engineering.  With Seventeen years experience with New Britain Emergency Medical Services, he now holds the position of Primary Instructor and teaches classes ranging from Basic First Aid to Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.

With background experiences ranging from Volunteer firefighter, Fire Marshal and Wildland Firefighter combined with specialized instructor training certifications in hazardous materials, terrorist bombings and emergency medicine combined with his dynamic teaching style, Craig has been a tremendous asset to the NBEMS training staff.

Kristen Farrell
Training Center Coordinator

Kristen has been with the academy since 2013 and involved in EMS training since 2009. She is a certified EMT and functions as our American Heart Association Training Center Coordinator. Kristen has grown our AHA training center to operate in both Connecticut and Massachusetts and serves as New England Regional BLS Faculty for the AHA. She has recently been named the NBEMSA Training Center and Outreach Coordinator handling activities such as SAFE sitter, and various other New Britain EMS outreach initiatives.

Victor Morrone
Lieutenant

Victor’s career in emergency services spans over 30 years. He has functioned in many aspects in EMS including the military, rural, suburban and urban environments. Victor is a retired state Firefighter/Paramedic after 20 combined years with Bradley International Airport Fire Rescue and the University of Connecticut Health Center Fire Department. He has taught at the paramedic level for over 15 years serving in the role has adjunct faculty and clinical educator. He has an Associate’s Degree in Paramedic Studies from Capital Community College and is an Emergency Medical Services Instructor. Victor worked for New Britain EMS has a per diem paramedic and after his retirement from the fire service became a shift Lieutenant.

He is the lead instructor for the Paramedic program. Victor brings a wealth of experience and compassion for teaching. He is a highly motivated and dedicated member of the Academy staff.

Lillian Gopoian
Educational Assistant

Lillian is a licensed paramedic and has been involved in EMS since the age of 13 where she started as an EMS explorer with Hunter’s Ambulance Explorer Post as an EMR. Lillian has worked for NBEMS as both an EMT and paramedic. She has active duty military medic experience serving a tour in Operation Enduring Freedom as a 68 Whisky Combat Medic. She joined the Academy staff after working as a paramedic in our operations division. Lillian’s primary role is community outreach and American Heart Association classes. She is a BLS instructor as well as a Safe Sitter instructor.

Thomas Sienkiewicz
Educational Assistant

Tom is Connecticut EMS-Instructor and licensed paramedic with a career in the medical field that spans 30 years. Twenty-seven of those years have been in EMS with 23 as a paramedic. He has a diverse EMS background having served in a several different delivery models of EMS including emergency & non-emergency transport EMS as well as serving a as paramedic in a hospital based intercept program. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from SCSU. Tom is an instructor in both our paramedic and EMT programs in addition to teaching BLS, ACLS, and PALS as an AHA instructor. Tom is a member of the Portland Fire Department where he serves as a Lieutenant and EMS Officer. He also is an active paramedic with our operations division.
