BLS for Health Care Providers
CLASS POSTPONEMENT NOTICE:
In Compliance with CDC and State of Connecticut guidance for social protocol during the Coronavirus (COVID -19) emergency, we have postponed all classes the New Britain EMS Academy offers until a time which it is deemed appropriate to reopen to the public. In the interim, check out our NCCR approved distance learning options, both self-paced and virtual instructor led.
We are committed to the long term success of all our students and continue to stand committed to fulfill our obligations for current students and those to come. Foremost we value the health and safety of our students, staff, families, and our community.
The American Heart Association BLS (CPR/AED) for Healthcare Providers course trains professionals with clinical responsibilities to provide lifesaving interventions to victims of cardiac and respiratory arrest. This course covers CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for adults, children, and infants. This certification is required for most healthcare providers working in patient care areas – for example, EMS personnel, physician assistants, physicians, dentists, nurses, respiratory therapists and others who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course – and for students enrolled in medical and nursing programs.
If you have previously completed this course or its equivalent, check out our BLS Refresher courses.
